• Hi jimdashu, This TV - Monitor can use just about any speaker/speakers of your choice. Depending on your budget and sound requirements you can select from a vast amount of speakers. If your budget allows, I think that you would be very happy if you went with a Samsung Sound Bar. Most times using the same manufactures products allows for best results. At this time you can find the Samsung Sound Bar on sale for around the $200.00 range. • Yes, this tv connects with an external speaker. I have it hooked up with a 28 inch Vizio sound bar from my last tv set (Vizio) and a wireless subwoofer.
