I think it depends your entertainment center or living room size 10x15 sq ft room 43"-50" tv would be fine. Also, it depends on how you put the tv on the high shelf could be big size. Mine put on table 32" already look big for short distance viewing. 32" tv the one I bought has 31.5" viewing area, screen size 16"H x 28" already is the perfect size for me.
