• If you buy open box be sure to check the label it normally notes any missing parts, and yes its safe to buy, you get the same return period, same warranty, and you still have the same change to add best buy protection to the product

• just my 2 cents I don't take the chance. I buy new and this TV isn't very expensive anyway
