“Can they be stacked on top of each other and function properly without any issues?”

Hi Marigold! The matching dryer can stack on top of this washer using the stacking kit model SKK-8K. ^Jecca

Yes with the mounting hardware they can be stacked. I have had mine stacked for 14yrs. not sure how many earthquakes and they didn't move.
