“I too need to know this. What is the exact distance between the legs on the 49 inch model? It looks like the legs are inset a little on the TV, so would not be the full width of the TV itself. Must know which stand to buy before bringing the TV home.”

They're not that far in from the sides of the TV. Where the TV is connected to the leg is about 3 inches in from the outside and where the legs touch your TV stand is maybe like 1.5 inches in from the outside of the TV.
