“My speakers & subwoofer don't work when I use the TV apps. All other components connected to the receiver works fine. Anybody else have this problem and know a workable solution?”

Sounds like you are running a single way HDMI cable to your tv from your receiver. the issue is that the TV audio output isn't making its way back to the receiver. All of your other components are going through the receiver to the TV but since the TV apps don't run through the receiver you aren't getting any sound. Try getting a 2 way HDMI or running an optical cable from the tv to your receiver.
