What kind of DVD player do you suggest? null

DVD??? You need to get a Blu-Ray player. That will upconvert your old DVDs to 720p quality and play Blu-Rays at 1080p quality. The units all perform about the same, however, you may want to go with the brand of TV you have. This will allow the units to communicate with each other easier.

We have this TV with a 2 year old Samsung Bluray player & movies are beautiful. I'm not ready to pay top dollar for 4K yet.
