• When u put blue ray DVD it switches outomaticlly to movie . It's great .you don't have to change anything on tv .

• Same as any other TV. If the did player supports ARC it can be controlled by the TV. Like turn off and off automatically. When I turn on bluray, it changes to that input automatically. You have to have HDMI that supports ARC as well. This is also referred to as device sync or something close to that depending on who you are talking to or how the device refers to it.

• Both Blue Ray and DVD work on the TV, but recommend upgrading to latest and sticking with a Samsung player for compatibility and the upconvert ability.
