Vibrant and colorful! Beautiful tv when the lights are out. It also has an adjustment for room lighting to make viewing the tv more comfy. Check your setup and settings on tv.

The auto dimming feature is great for this very issue. For me personally, I turned it off and was nearly blinded by the brightness of the TV. Which I like. You can also calibrate the TV to your specific levels.

It has a dimmer, and the auto dimming function on it is very very good. Probably my favorite feature on the TV. It was no brighter in my living room than my Christmas tree with 3 strands of Walmart lights on it. Actually was a lot dimmer when the TV was dim. It is very bright when you want it though.

You can adjust for use in bright ambient light situations, or dark movie situations. A calibration may be an option if you're looking to get specific brightness or color levels.
