“What is the difference between the 7 series in comparison to the 8?”

• The 7 series has excellent contrast function for 90+ % of the time. The series 8 has all of this function but does some extra "stuff" when there are the super dark scenes showing in night episodes or in dark alley concept shows like Gotham. I couldn't justify the extra dollars for those features for my normal watching viewing habits. Hope this helps a little but it's just my observation and qualitative decision.
