No...NO...NO, the q90 r soundbar has never received the firmware update for e arc. It currently has only arc, much different!! I was ready to buy, until read all forums, indicating that the firmware update for E ARC was promised many months ago, but has yet to come to fruition.

Yes there was a firmware update 1008.0 on 7/3 that enabled eARC. This sound bar is amazing!

An update to my previous answer; called Samsung (twice), NONE of the q-series soundbars have received an update, enabling E-ARC, in lieu of the standard ARC output, nor is there any time frame in which one can expect this update to happen. If you want E-ARC, enabling completely uncompressed sound output, this soundbar is not for you!!!

I've read claims that firmware update 1006 enables eARC, however I have yet to get it to function properly on my eARC compatible Sony A9G. No lossless audio, only lossy 5.1.

yes it does. The bar has 2HDMI in, 1 Optical in And one HDMI out with ARC.

Yes you plug the hdmi cable into the back of the sound bar. Works awesomely!!

Yes. This sounder has an ARC channel. It works amazingly well. Simple to setup. Yes - it would be quite pricey if it did not include this feature. BTW, the sound is excellent.. I am very happy with the purchase!
