Yes it will charge and through some cases as well. I have a S8+ and it charges through my otter box

Please try again later.please keep saying yes it doesnt but thats only part true this will only slow charge the s8 or s8+ it will NOT fast Charge this is a known issue that samsung will not comment on .. only the new $89.99 fast charger will fast charger ur s8 or s8+ but if you dont care about fast charging then yes this will work

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The flat fast charger works better than the upright version in my experience. The flat charger is the one I use. I have an upright charger that sits in a study, but it just blinks on what the current charge is and then later on it might do the same and the charge might be lower. It gives the impression it is charging but overnight it does nothing. I use a Verizon Holster case. The case is no different than the S6 edge I used on the flat version and on the flat version I have no issues of charging and it works just fine. The upright version seems to start charging if the case is removed which is of no use to me so I don't use it.
