Why are these not waterproofed? null

I think i read they were "sweat proof" but not "waterproof"

they are to a point. i left mine in my pants pocket and through the washer. they're still working perfectly.

It says on the web page for Best Buy that they are not waterproof.

The Buds are made with 10ATM water-resistance classification (up to 100m of water for up to 10 minutes) and have an IP68 rating (up to 6 feet of water for up to 30 minutes).
