What I was told was that so long as you purchase the phone by 3/7, after you get the phone you fill out a form in the Shop Samsung app on the phone by 4/4 and you will get the "gift" of the buds in 6 to 8 weeks. Seems to me they should give you the buds when you get the phone, but it is what it is.

According to Samsung's website, the free Galaxy Buds promotional gift is limited to the first hundred thousand or so pre-orders. They have already exceeded that number, so instead of a gift of buds, you'll get a voucher for $130 or so, to use on their website or store. Conceivably, you might be able to use that voucher towards some buds, but I'm not sure. Also, even if you were to get a free pair of buds, they'll only get shipped out like 4-6 weeks after Samsung gets the request. So don't expect people to be walking around with the free pairs any time soon.
