I got the $400 gift card and Best Buy will not let you use it towards the purchase price at the time you get the phone, however, it came in handy to cover all the accessories with plenty of $$ left over for purchases in the future; if you have paid off your current phone, it's your choice to take either the month to month plan or pay it in full when you get it
