• go with the best deal you can and buy it from someone like best buy. I got a $150 gift card and a free fitbit2. I was upgrading a flip phone to a smart phone on verizon and it worked out for me. go talk to an in store rep and see if you can upgrade without any issues(prior commitments, ect).

• Depending on the amount of data plan you'd need but most stand alone plans start around $60 to $70 that's standard line access with lowest data plan.
