Thanks for the question, Eileen. Whether the Pedestal drawer can open with it sitting in the tray depends on the height of the sides on the tray. The legs on the Pedestal can be adjusted by about an inch, but this is intended as an adjustment for leveling, not for clearing obstacles. Whether the Pedestal will fit depends on the size of the tray. Ideally the tray should be long and wide enough to be able to use the included wrench to adjust the legs for final leveling. - Ms. Samsung
