Hi Stacy, The HW-Q800F Soundbar uses front-firing and up-firing speakers (Dolby Atmos), which require open space to project sound properly. If the soundbar is pushed back into a wall cavity or enclosed on the sides or top, you may experience reduced dialogue clarity and diminished Atmos height effects. For best results, position the soundbar so the front is flush with or slightly extends past the wall opening, keep the top fully unobstructed for the up-firing speakers, and avoid tight side walls, as they can reflect or trap sound and reduce overall audio performance. ~ Samsung Solutions
