This can be done but it’s always risky considering the cord can pull out at any point. Google to find the steps to take If you do it always take care that the drive stays plugged in
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did years ago with a 2.5 ssd swap with my mechanical drive on a laptop. It worked fine back then but ssd was connected to SATA port inside the laptop chassis. There shouldn’t be an issue booting from usb drive if that’s the route you want to go.
