“I want to add to house network. Is this ok heat wise always plugged in 24/7? I see on other questions this drive gets warm but not HOT.”

• Most SSDs get warm/hot, as long as you provide enough passive air cooling space you should be fine. That said there are cheaper options such as Samsung's many SATA SSDs if this drive will be mostly performing reading operations.
