No. It will store but the Series S/X will require the Gen5 games to be moved to console storage before playing. However, you are able to play XB1 (Gen4) and X360 games directly from the SSD which is a weird quirk.

Yes You can store a Series X game on the drive but you cannot play a Series X game from the drive. You will have to move the Series X game to internal storage on system or the Seagate expansion drive made for Series X / S.
