“How do you get better write speeds out of this ssd? It advertises up to 1050 mb/s but I'm only getting under 1mb-7mb tops in backing up documents to the drive :( I'm connecting thru USB c to my laptop”

It really depends on what you are copying. If you copy a large file you will see that high speeds.
