Not really... a flash drive is just a USB storage device. Basically it's like having a CD, DVD, old floppy disk, or some kind of hard drive but that can be plugged into the USB port of virtually any computer and can be used over and over again
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A flash drive is a small external storage device that you can copy files to. After you plug it into a USB port on your computer, the computer will recognize it as another drive that you can save files to. You can then insert the drive into another computer to copy the stored files to that computer or you give the drive to someone else to share the files with them. I can't answer the question about converting an old computer to a Chromebook though. Sorry!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A flash drive is used for storage or transferring of files...it can not be used to convert operating systems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A flash drive is used for external storage of files. I don't think a flash drive could be used to convert a Vista computer to a chromebook. Windows no longer supports Vista. If you want a Chromebook, you would most likely have to buy one. If you had the right components, you could probably build a Chromebook. I would recommend contacting a computer dealer (like Best Buy) and ask them what to do. Hope this helps answer your question!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, as far as I'm aware Chromebook uses a propriety google OS based on a Linux format. Several people have attempted to load a Windows based OS on to a jump drive and plug it into a Chromebook and it did not work. I have reloaded several Chromebook and found that the OS varies by manufacture. Finally the Chromebooks I've came across have a small disk drives around 16GB, which is insufficient to load and maintain a windows OS. Best regards, GEE
