How much faster does this use up the battery? null

I have not noticed any additional battery drain. Microphones typically don't draw a ton of current to operate. I've had a Sony lavalier that operates off a hearing aid battery, and I only replace that battery about every 2-3 years. A light, for example - even an LED light for a short video - will drain much more battery than the microphone.

The power from the battery is so nominal, that it will not effect your camera at all. I'm very similar to the power use of a single light bulb in an entire house, not much at all.
