• It is compatible with the ps4 but I'm unsure about the ps3. I replaced my ps4 hard drive with this one. It's worked great and I haven't had any problems with it.

• I was able to crack open the casing and use the HDD for my PS4, not sure about the PS3 but I would guess so.

• I have it in my PS4 so I know it's compatible with it and I assume it is with the PS3 as well but have not personally tried it.

• PS3, yes. PS4, not externally since the PS4 does not recognize external hard drives.
