It's not a NAS device if that's the question, but it can be shared if it's attached to a PC running Windows or Linux. If you don't want to buy an expensive NAS and you don't want to leave a PC there are routers that have a USB port that you can plug an external drive like this one into and share it on your network. However, some routers are easier to set up than others. Be sure to look at video reviews if you decide to go this route.
