• Nope, it should still work fine. The glass 'cup' around the bulb could dim or scatter the light a little but, the bulb will still work.

• If your ceiling fan has a standard bulb socket then this bulb would work and the glass of the fan should not block off the light. Its a great bulb, and my kids love changing the colors on the Alexa app.
