Yes you can just push the on button. You do not need an app or phone.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You need to set it up using a smart phone; the first think you do is an explore so that it knows where it can travel. Once that is done, you can either setup a schedule or just push the start button on the top of the robot to start it. It tends to vacuum the same areas over and over and the areas at the end of it's stored path doesn't get done. I have discovered I can pick up the robot and place it in a room that hasn't been vacuumed and push the start button and it will clean that room; it does seem to remember what the room was from the exploration step.
