“Does anybody know if this television will play mp4 video files off my usb flash drive? If it can't, there's no reason for me to buy this. I've already tried a couple tv's that have usb slots and they completely ignore my files.”

I was surprised to find out it DOES play mp4 files. I really don't have a need for it, but I just tested a stick with an mp4 movie on it and it plays fine. It is played with the use of the Roku Media Player app. Works fine.
