• Yes it picks up free channels just fine. How many channels depends on which type of antenna you use, and where you place the antenna. I had one of the cheap, flat antennas laying around that I tried. Worked fine. Got all my local CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, PBS just fine. All antennas nowadays sold are HD.
