• The LEGS are 46 3/4" apart, side to side & 9 1/4" front to back . & are in the shape of a 'v' . THE T V MEASURES 49" WIDE, so if your sure your table top is 48 wide it should JUST ABOUT fit. You could buy wood at Home Depot or Lowes, they cut it free and make a wider wood top. Hope this helps.

• You need a stand that is made for a 55 inch or larger tv.

• It actually has two sets of tripod like legs at either end of the tv. So yes the stand legs are out as wide as the tv.
