QuestionCan you control how many speakers you use out of the six? For example, can you turn only two or three speakers on at a time instead of all six?

- Answer Short Answer; no Longer answer: The Sonos Amp outputs sound and power through a left and right channel of speakers; making it a stereo configuration. The amp can only output sound to one set of left and one set of right speakers. The Sonos Amp controls the speakers and it is how the system connects to the Sonos Mesh Network system; accessible via the Sonos app. Basically One Amp = One Zone/Room

- Answer Hi, Thank you for your question. The satellites features a 1/2" NPS threat for mounting. I would suggest checking around to see if you can find a pole mounting solution with 1/2" NPS. QuestionI have the same issue as others w/ the Sub not getting loud enough.Can the sub be wired directly to the Sub output on the Amp, then add the sub in the app, then separately control sub volume and crossover? Or is that port is only for powered subs?

- Answer Make sure you have the polarity right. Switch cables in each channel until you hear the subwoofer. If the Subwoofer is not connected properly, it's not going to work, and you will barely hear it.

QuestionI just purchased the MAG6.1 for my pool area and will be purchasing a Sonos Beam Gen2 for my patio TV. Can these two systems be grouped together? Or will I still need a separate Sonos amp for the patio zone?

- Answer Yes they are easily grouped together. I also use the beam and an arc with my system.

QuestionCan these speakers sit below the surface you are trying to send sound to? Our pool is ground level on one side and 4.5 feet out of the ground on the other.

- Answer Ehhh…I’m not sure you would get the quality sound you’d like. These are directional speakers. The music comes from where they are facing. You’d likely have to elevate them on the one low side

QuestionIs it possible to have 2 zones with the 6.1 system? What if I set up right and left speakers in 2 different sections of my yard in case I just want to have sound on one section and not the entire yard?

- Answer No, you’ll need two amps to do that. One will have the right speakers setup with while the other the left. You can play them together that way or separately as you mention.

QuestionThe 3 speakers on the right side of my subwoofer are behind and lower than the raised pool wall. Are there extensions or devices that will allow me to raise the speakers above the raised pool wall? And any way to change the angle of the speaker direction?

QuestionDoes the subwoofer have to be buried? If it's not buried, the top can extend above the back pool wall. I'm afraid the wall will deflect a lot of the base from going the desired direction. If it works better buried, will a large planter pot suffice?

- Answer Hi, Thanks for your question. We do not recommend adding any additional speakers to the MAG6.1 system. I would recommend running your in-ceiling speakers off of a 2nd amplifier like Sonos Amp. Adding additional speakers to the MAG6.1 system may damage the Sonos amplifier that is running the satellite speakers and subwoofer. I hope you found this information helpful. - Answer Hi, Thanks for your question. We do not recommend adding any additional speakers to the MAG6.1 system. Adding additional speakers may damage the Sonos amplifier. I would reccomed looking at our Sonance Garden Series system if you need additional speakers. This system is a step up from MAG6.1. Our Garden Series system comes with 8 satellite speakers, a larger subwoofer, and it's expandable up to 16 satellites and 2 subwoofers powered off of a single Sonance amplifier. QuestionCan the sonos amp be placed outside but enclosed and away from the elements? building a tv wall as part of covered pavillion. Will bring it back in during winter months. Also want to know if I can hookup a sonos soundbar to amp and this speaker system.

QuestionThe center where the subwoofer goes is on porcelain tile. It can’t be buried. Am I sacrificing performance?

I've seen installations where the subwoofer is buried in a large pot sitting on a patio with some plants added to hide the subwoofer, and it sounded great. This may be an option for you as well.
