I have play 1’s installed in this same manner underneath a patio cover in Las Vegas. They are subjected to the heat and the cold but work great. Have had no issues with leaving them outside.

It is resistant against humidity, however it's not designed for this use. It may work, but we would recommend outdoor rated speakers powered by our Amplifier to deliver great sound, ease-of-use of our app, and a worry-free outdoor experience.
