• Yes it is all set with Alexa. This was my first and only Alexa device. We are having fun experimenting with it/her.

• There are 2 versions of the speaker. This one is the "older" model that does not have Alexa built in - they call it "Sonos One". The "smart" speaker does and they call that one the "Play: 1" now. I'm like you and don't need the control built in.

• Mine doesn't, it is the "Sonos Play: 1". "Sonos one" has Alexa.
