The Sonos Play 5 speaker will connect to your TV via wired analog auxiliary cable. Once the Sonos Play 5 is connected to your TV, you can then connect via wirelessly (through the Wifi network) any other Sonos speaker.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The sonos speaker will not play sound from your tv unless it is connected. As far as I know, there is no app for the tv like the one on your phone. Typically is you are trying to run surround sound with Sonos, you will need to first purchase the Play:Bar which is a 3.1 multidirectional soundbar that connects to your tv via an optical cable. This makes it so the sound from the tv is directly incorporated into the device, and then the soundbar does all the work of translating the audio through a sub, and rear-channel speakers if you choose to add them. I hope this helps. Not 100% sure if this was what you were asking, or if you already had a system connected to your tv and want to add a sonos rear speaker. If that's the case, you need a sonos reciever or amp to connect to the other system which would essentially replace the functionality of the soundbar.
