When you hook up the Sonos-1, the system will prompt you to select a location for it by room: I have one labeled office and the second labeled playroom. I have different play lists for each one from Amazon Prime - classical for the office and classic rock for the playroom. There is a pull down menu at the top of the Sonos screen on my iPad and I select the room I am in for playback. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the Sonos app 'reads' the Wi-Fi signal to which your mobile device is currently connected and links with the Sonos units that are on that same Wi-Fi system.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not 100% sure, but I believe that yes, your one-app will support more than one Sonos system. Each speaker is giving a name. So, you can have one "on" and one "off" in your house, and make the one "on" work. So, when you go to your second house, you would turn on the speakers in that house, and be able to make them work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have three different locations that I use. Work, home, and friends house. Sonos works on WIFI, so when you connect to the wifi it automatically controls the Sonos system that is connected to that wifi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes the app only detects whats on your network. meaning if you got to your friends house and he has sonos products and you have access to his wifi the app will detect what on his wifi. You do not need to worry about resinqing your home system to your app because its all saved on your wifi network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, just set them up as different rooms.
