Longer battery life, more software and hardware support. Nothing gets hot idk how your USB connection melted but it's very similar. Better materials too. A mark 3 is going to come out soon I think since sony put in a registration with FCC on them. Don't take my word for it because anything can happen you know those things are. It can change at the last minute.
