I travel a lot on airplanes. I use them even when off, while reading. They especially block out the drone of the engines. I do still hear the announcements over the intercom Use the noise cancelling while watching a movie, etc. They work well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Buy the wax ears plugs. Buy this if you want to hear music.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They don’t block out too much noise; however, it is based on the shape of your inner ear. If the regular ear buds (corded ones) block out a lot of noise then these will be the same experience for you. There are also after marked silicon kits your can buy to improve isolation and your experience
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.if you would be playing something through them it would cover much of the sound, especially the loudest of the explosions. They are not generally good soundblockers however. I have the Bose ear buds for that and they work MUCH better. I like these because they hold a charge and can be recharged from the holder and block sound at McDonalds just fine.
