“When will the hdmi 2.1 firmware be available and how do you update the firmware?”

• At the moment no one knows when it will be released. When it is does it will update automatically or in most cases notify you of the update when it is released. Or you can check by going to Settings ---> Device Preferences---> About----> System Software Update to check for updates.

• There is no ETA on the firmware update for 2.1 features. My guess it will be sometime around the launch of the PS5. This page will tell you how to update your tv. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/downloads/00016833.
