“This unit does not state it is compatible with Spotify. How is a compatible Spotify radio different from this one? I do believe though I can connect a smartphone to the radio and Spotify will play. I just want to know what the difference is.”

It is saying that the dash does not come with a Spotify application built in like SirusXM, the app on your phone will connect with Apple Car play and you will be able to see the app and play from there. I use Spotify for this car radio and works great! I have attached a photo on how it looks like if you’re playing a song with Spotify.
