Hi Joan, We recommend using the 30mm F3.5 E-mount Macro Lens (model #: SEL30M35). Thanks. -Anthony
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The lens that came with the camera is capable or so I was told. I have taken a few pics with the a6000 but for really close up insect pics you should check out the Olympus tg2 or tg3 they take the best macro shots of any camera I have ever used you can have the lens only a couple of cm away from the object you can use the camera under water, in the rain, dust or just where ever. I leave the a6000 at the house most of the time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any E mount lens under 50mm, model numbers will have "SEL" in them
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This camera uses a "E" series lens. Look for any Sony lens that use this mount. I have the 16-50 and it will get up close for those macro shot.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any e-mount sony lens works great. If you have other brand/size lens already i believe there are mounts you can get to use then. You lose the autofocus ability, i believe, but i have no experience myself. I just purchased the sony zoom lens and its amazing!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It uses the E-mount. However, with the LAEA4 adapter (very pricy btw) you can find quality used lenses from Minolta (A mount). I recently got a 50 ml f1.8 E-mount. Great lense, but for the macro that you plan to use I would recommend a lense 30ml or less and with at least a f2.4 aperture.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
