This is not a 3D capable player so it will not work on 3D discs. While there are bandwidth concerns for some 4K cables, I don't think this is a problem with Blu Ray discs. Of course I could be wrong and I have experienced problems with some Blu Ray and standard DVD where the player identifies the disc as unreadable and classifies it as a "CD-ROM". This upsets me no end as these discs worked fine in the past. If you wish to try a cable that is rated higher then you could purchase one meant for 4K data transfer rates (and NO! A fancy cable with really pretty connectors and the like is not needed, just the bandwidth transfer specs are) and see if it works but as this is a Blu Ray player that upscales to a faux 4K, that may not do a thing for you.
