“my 3 year old Samsung tv uses 5 plug component cables to connect my much older Sony DVD player. Will this work with only 3 wires? Do I just remove the 5 wires from tv and insert the included 3 plug cable to both? Will it play? I need help! Thanks.”

The Sony dvpsr 510 h uses hdmi and composite av 3 wires ,your 3 year old Samsung should have several hdmi inputs and a shared component and composite imput it's easier to get a hdmi cable and make the simple connection, if you must use component in a 5 wire configuration the green connector is also a yellow av composite connector that can be selected in the TV inputs menu , the TV and player must be unplugged fron the power before you disconnect and remove the old cables and insert the supplied cables , the audio red to the red ,the audio white to the white and the video yellow to the green/yellow , leave the 2 other connectors empty select av /composite instead of component in the TV menu and it should play if not , a best buy store employee must help you .
