“The speakers I have including the subwoofer all have speaker wires, however, on your device it only takes RCA for subwoofer!! Do I need a pre-amp to run my sub? or can I run one of those speaker cable/male RCA cables?”

You need a preamp. Most mid level sub woofers have an active powered amp built inside. With RCA inputs on the back.
