• Yes, you can use just 2 speakers with this. That was why I chose this one. I use it in a small room and did not plan on a full speaker setup, I just have 2 front speakers and a subwoofer connected and it works well for both music and movies.

• Hi Mary, This unit is rated 90 watts per channel minimum RMS power at stereo mode, With 6-ohm loads, both channels driven, from 20 Hz – 20,000 Hz. And yes, you can use 2 speakers to this receiver, just make sure to connect speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. -Sam
