“Will the remote work through a wood cabinet or will the unit have to be exposed?”

• The remote is a standard IR (infrared) remote and cannot work through a wood door. You could buy a Harmony remote that would allow you to put it inside a cabinet and control it.

• Hi Frozentundra, The AV Receiver needs to be in an open space for the remote to completely function. NOTE: Make sure nothing is blocking the Infrared (IR) sensor on the AV Receiver. Some locations or stand designs can interfere with the IR signal from the remote control. Glass enclosures, as well as fluorescent or halogen lights, may prevent the IR signal from reaching the AV Receiver.
