I just had a good conversation regarding using a sound bar with a an amplified receiver. The reason they are incompatible made sense. Simply put, you'd be using an amplified sound system to try and amplify an already amplified signal. When an audio signal is received (by your receiver) it is processed and then amplified and sent out on five different channels (+1) to your various speakers. Unless your unit supports a direct multichannel unamplified line out (which the STRH-590 doesn't), you wouldn't be able to process the signal on a sound bar (which also wants to amplify and separate the raw signal), which is why that doesn't work. As to the wireless remote speakers, it may depend on type (powered or unpowered) signal requirements, or other characteristics of the speakers. Several of the speaker sets I've looked at recently act as an AV amplifier similar to a sound bar and provide the distribution and amplification inherent to the speakers. Not sure what you have but hope this helps.
