Will this work with a passove subwoofer? null

Hi there, Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, no. Only an active subwoofer can be connected to the SUBWOOFER PRE OUT on the STR-DH590. Sony surround sound receivers are not capable of powering a passive subwoofer. Hope this helps. Regards, Jess
