I still have Bose 501s that are in great condition and would like to use them with my new Samsung 75 inch tv (digital audio out (optical)). Will this receiver allow me to do so? Is there anything else I need to make this work? null

I am using this amp with a pair of old Pioneer cs-99a... My old Mitsubishi amplifier was definitely a little heavier wattage and drove the speakers a little better but they still sound very good for the money...

Trying to understand tour question. If your question is about it having optical, yes it does! And as long as your speakers have wires, you can wire 5 speakers and the sub.

If your speaker system is within 6 to 16 ohms then it will work with this AV receiver. Also, we recommend using the ARC function to minimize the use of an optical cable. See page 15 for details.
