Even if I just use the AVR remote to turn on Bluetooth, CD or FM, it still turns on the TV. This was problematic when I was away on vacation, we must have lost power, our Echo dot restarted which automatically connected it to the bluetooth on the receiver which then turned the tv on and it remained on the rest of the vacation time till I got home.

When I want to listen to music I just say, “Alexa, connect to my speakers.” She connects and the receiver turns on which is great, but then the tv turns on, too. But I only want to listen to music and don’t want the tv on. Is there a way to keep the tv from turning on?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely! The key is that you use the receiver remote and not your television remote. Then use the remote to select what it is you want to do. Keep in mind, every time you select Bluetooth it does require pairing.
